This must be a nightmare for internet addicts and digitally distracted folks, not to mention the usual average guys and gals, in the United States. T Mobile is down. I repeat T Mobile is down.

We’re getting reports from sea to shining sea this evening that T-Mobile service is down or intermittent on both voice and data — particularly bad timing in light of the recent Sidekick drama. We’ve tested in New York and it’s definitely down for us — both voice and data — so how’s service treating everyone out there?

A nationwide T-Mobile voice outage is plaguing users and as of 7 PM EST, the topic was trending on Twitter.
With the explosion of Twitter and other social media tools, consumers are looking for quicker answers than ever. Within less than an hour, the #t-mobile became a trending topic on Twitter, yet the ‘official’ T-Mobile USA twitter page was only offering promotional material:
Thankfully, the T Mobile Customer Service is doing something to deal with this.
We’re making good progress restoring voice and messaging service to affected customers. At this time, approximately 5 percent of T-Mobile customers are experiencing service disruptions. Issues began at approximately 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. Our rapid response team is working continuously to fully resolve this disruption. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused our customers
