No, it wasn’t Rafael Nadal who went to the US Open 2008 Men’s Singles Finals! Dang! I was really hoping he’d be there to battle it out against Roger Federer. Apparently, the World’s No. 1 Male Tennis Player is not very good on the hardcourt. A US Open Grand Slam title is still elusive for Rafael Nadal! This is a big setback in his career though. People (like me) wanted him to show up and prove to the world that he deserves to be at the No. 1 position. We’re disappointed though!

It was surprise winner Andy Murray, a 21-year old Scot, who faced Roger Federer in the Men’s Singles Finals! And Roger Federer proves to the world that he is far from being history! He is still a force to reckon with in World Tennis! Hurray for ROGER FEDERER!! This is his fifth consecutive US Open title! Beat that!!

Here’s another trivia, after Bill Tilden won the US Open for five consecutive times in the 1920s, no one has ever repeated that feat! But this year, Federer showed the world that he really belongs to the world’s best tennis players of all time!

Take note, it was Andy Murray’s first ever entry into Grand Slam Tennis Finals. Perhaps, if he improves further, he might make an excellent tennis player! As for Rafael Nadal, hmmm… let’s see what he’s gonna do next!

Serena Williams Reigns Supreme at Women's Singles US Open 2008

For the US Open Women’s Finals, Serena Williams won against Serbian Jelena Jankovic! At 23 years old, Jankovic landed her first ever appearance at the Grand Slam Finals. Still, Williams proved that experience is a veteran tennis player’s best weapons against a newcomer to the Finals.

On the whole, the US Open 2008 has been an enjoyable ride! It featured the best and the most elite tennis players from all over the world.

This is but a quick post on the Latest Results of the US Open 2008 at Flushing Meadows in New York. I have tried to open up my blogs awhile ago to check on the progress of tennis games at Flushing Meadows. But because I was a bit busy with the Wordcamp Philippines 2008 event, I had to content myself by postponing my access to the Internet to check for US Open updates.

Here are some of the breaking news and latest updates at the US Open 2008.

Jankovic celebrates her Entry to US Open Women's Singles Final

Jankovic was so passionate with her game that she won two sets! Because of that, she will go straight to the 2008 Women’s Singles Final of the US Open. She might get nervous though because this is gonna be her first Grand Slam Finals appearance. Jankovic will face American top Tennis Player Serena Williams on Saturday for the Women’s Singles Finals! Dang! I don’t want to miss this fight! If only I could watch US Open 2008 Cable TV | online, it would have been a great experience!

Good news to the fans of that great great Tennis Player Roger Federer, he is advancing to the Men’s Singles Final at the US Open competition. I do hope he would square it off against Rafael Nadal in the US Open Men’s Singles Final. Whew!

At least, Federer took it as a man and as a professional sportsman. He took the night off instead of going away from the fight. During that time, he may have made some resolve. He will still play at the 2008 US Open as the partner of Stanislas Wawrinka in the Men’s Doubles. WhateverMighty will watch Rafael Nadal if he will indeed live up to being the World’s No. 1 at this time!

That’s it for now folks, the US Open 2008 will close a few hours from today! I hope I will be there to herald the champions and the Finals victors of the 2008 US Open.
