It’s a sad day for the activists in Iran. A woman has been shot dead by who is believed to be an agent of the government. We join President Obama in condemning this worthless act of violence. Check out the following updates from several websites.

From Los Angeles Times

Reporting from Washington — President Obama today condemned the ongoing government crackdown on Iranian demonstrators, using his strongest language yet, but declined to spell out consequences for the violence, saying there is still time for officials in that country to respect universal “norms and principles” of freedom.

Obama particularly deplored the shooting of a young Iranian woman during a protest, horrific images of which were captured by a cellphone camera and broadcast around the world in the last 48 hours.

Texas | Texas Secession from Union | Texas Secede from Union | Texas Taxes | Texas Succession | Texas Secession due to Taxes

The situation in the United States of America is pretty tough at this stage. With the recession going on, a liberal president seated in Washington, it seems that political tensions are flaring. Texas Governor Rick Perry has publicly entertained the notion of Texas secession from the Union.

According to LewRockwell:

I’ve been telling people for quite a while now how great it would be if Texas were to secede–it’s big enough to be a separate country (and, of course, it was at one point, with President Sam Houston). Texas Governor Rick Perry has become my new favorite governor, by publicly entertaining the idea of secession. As noted here, “Speaking with reporters after a tea party rally in Austin today, Gov. Rick Perry said Texas can leave the union if it wants to.”

“Texas is a unique place. When we came into the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that,” Perry said. “My hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention. We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that.”

Personalmoneystore also comments on the issue:

This implication of secession, however small or vague it may be, has gotten Texans riled up like a peace activist talking about military loans. Aside from posters attached to sticks at the Tea Party rallies yesterday, there are a few more signs that some conservative Texans are jumping on the secession bandwagon.

Brand-new blog “Texas Secede!” addresses whether it is constitutional for Texas to become an independent republic. The answer, according to the site, is that the constitution doesn’t say it can’t. The site also advocates pretty heavily that the state take advantage of this not-necessarily-unconstitutional right:

Public opinion and ignorance won’t stop us from suggesting that secession is still a good idea for people who value their rights and personal liberty.

Let’s wait and see how the Americans are going to deal with this matter.
