Blogging, Writing and Taking a Vacation

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I’ve been writing like crazy for the past week. I usually start at 8 in the morning and continue writing till the wee hours, like 2AM or 4AM. I accepted a lot of projects because I wanted to go on vacation on October 1-3. Yep, I am going home (again) to my beloved province Isabela in Cagayan Valley.

I have been too busy in the past few days that I have not given enough attention to my blogs. I want to grow my blogs in such a way that they will become authorities in their respective niches. WhateverMighty, on the other hand, is just my personal blog. I rant here. I talk about anything under the sun. I blog. I brag. I write about anything! Yeah… whatever! :D

But seriously, I need to think about how to make my blogs stand out and drive more traffic. That is the only way for these blogs to grow. These means therefore that I have to learn more and apply what I learn to my blogs.

As I take my vacation on October 1-3, I will look at my blogs and how I can work in promoting them more.

Another thing I have not really given attention to is literary writing. I’ve been so caught up with my blogs and with my online income-generating activities that I have not written a single short story or poetry for two years now. Sigh.

When I go home, I hope to pick up the trails I’ve lost and hopefully, remind myself again that I am a writer, a creative writer, first and foremost.

Unleash the Poet and the Writer

Making money online is not and should not be the main reason for blogging. Although it might come as a reward for blogging, making money while writing for a blog should never be the top priority.

These past two weeks or so, I have been doing SEO work left and right. I have been trying to make money as crazy as I wanted to. But then, I paused and asked myself why I am blogging in the first place.

I want a place to express myself and publish my thoughts on the issues that concern me. Recently though, I find myself blogging about stuff I am not really passionate about. Sigh. Apparently, I’m still in the process of covering the niche that is really suited for me.
