It’s Rafael Nadal Against Roger Federer! Federer vs Nadal in the 2009 Australian Open Men’s Final

Rafael Nadal prevailed over countryman Fernando Verdasco in an excellent match that will be remembered as one of the finest matches in the Australian Open. Fernando Verdasco put everything he’s got and matched the play of Rafael Nadal. But in the end, what little edge from experience Nadal had beat Verdasco by only a slight margin in the tie breaker!

So now we’re on to the Australian Open Men’s Final! The famous rivalry between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will be rekindled anew. Rafael Nadal is chasing after his first win in the Australian Open and Roger Federer is seeking for his 14th Grand Slam championship! We’ll see how these two great Tennis players outsmart and outplay each other.

In the 2008 Wimbledon Final, Rafael Nadal prevailed over Roger Federer. We’ll see if he can repeat that feat.

In the Australian Open Women’s Doubles Championship, Venus Williams and sister, Serena Williams dominated over Daniela Hantuchova & Ai Sugiyama.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will square off with each other on Sunday, February 1, 2009, the last day of the Australian Open. Serena Williams, aiming for her 10th Grand Slam title will also be competing against Dinara Safina.

The great Roger Federer has proven yet again that he is a tough fighter and one of the greatest Tennis Players of this generation! While a lot of people were expecting him to win over Andy Roddick, for like the nth time, the Australian Open match was still a good one!  This also means that Roger Federer is very close to achieving what Ivan Lendl has achieved–to appear in 19 Grand Slam Final appearances! Since Roger Federer doesn’t seem to have lost his skills, he may yet appear in more Grand Slam finals than that.

Roger Federer will surely be in the Australian Open Finals | Australian Open Championship. He will come face to face with strong rival Rafael Nadal or the contender Fernando Verdasco!
