llinois Governor Rod Blagojevich Impeached by Illinois Senators | Rod Blagojevich Impeachment

Finaly, llinois Governor Rod Blagojevich Impeached by Illinois Senators | Rod Blagojevich Impeachment. I have just read the recent reports from CNN.com concerning the action of Illinois senators in impeaching Rod Blagojevich from office because of federal charges in corruption.

The root cause of the impeachment is Blagojevich’s attempts to sell or trade the Senate seat that President Barack Obama rendered vacant. The Federal government arrested the Illinois governor and the House of the Illinois state voted to impeach him. When the impeachment vote reached the Illinois Senate, they unanimously agreed to impeach him. More than though, Blagojevich was officially prevented to hold any office in the State of Illinois ever again!

The public disgrace must have been intolerable!

The governor, apparently, had not presented any witnesses or evidences that would come to his defenses. Because of this, the State Senators decided as they did. The Lieutenant governor of Illinois, Patrick Quinn, will replace the impeached governor.
