Guide to Planning for the New Year

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

It’s that time of the year when people feel the breeze of the holidays. Most people will also eat a lot and pig out during this season (at least in the Philippines, that is).

For most people though, the end of the year is also a time of looking back and reviewing the year that was. It’s also a time to take a look at what the future holds.

Most folks would also write their “New Year’s Resolutions!“

I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions! They are simply good intentions that, most often that not, remain as good intentions. They rarely happen. And the person who has them usually ends up frustrated and annoyed.

The reason behind this failure of New Year’s resolutions is the failure to move beyond good intentions. Without intense commitment and passion, good intentions will always remain as good intentions. Good for thinking and nothing else but.

So here are several suggestions on how you can make your New Year planning meaningful so you can avoid the Good-Intentions-Trap!

Project Filipino (Domi)Nation

Has it ever crossed your mind that Filipinos are all over the world? And that we can dominate the world if we want to?!

We may be the slaves and the Dakilang Katulongs of the world. Our women (and men, too) wash the dishes and the laundry of Middle Easterners and Europeans. Our carpenters are raising the world’s highest buildings in Dubai and elsewhere. Our miners are delving the world’s gold and mine deposits. Our engineers are masterminding the establishment of megapolises like (again) Dubai and the rest of Middle East.

We are a hardy people. We can eat saluyot (or kangkong & kamote, if you’re not Ilocano) if needs be.We can laugh in the face of adversity and problems. We have launched the world’s greatest rollercoaster ride in the highway–the Jeepney! What’s impossible for us?

Err… a lot of things!

But think on this.

The Filipino yayas, DH, katulong, nannies, helpers in Middle East, Europe and elsewhere are raising the kids of these people!

The Filipino nurses and caregivers are taking care of the sick, the infirm, persons with disabilities, and the old folks in Western countries.

Take note that these yayas and these caregivers ARE NOT MERE KATULONG. They are not dumb. They are educated Filipinas who had to go abroad as DH and katulong because of economic necessity.

I see a gem of possibility.

Perhaps we can have a school for Domestic Helpers, katulongs, and all sorts of Overseas Filipino Workers.

Let’s drill in them the importance of nationalism and why they should love and serve Inang Bayang Filipinas! Let’s train them in psychological warfare! Let’s help them become the missionaries of a new Filipino religion.

We need a Professor Charles Xavier-type School for the Nationalistic OFWs!

When these yayas, katulongs, carpenters, doctors, nurses, caregivers, etc. etc., go abroad to work. They can raise the kids of these foreigners with the Filipino ideology. Carpenters can input tracking devices and bugs in buildings they construct. Our programmers can embed bugs and backdoor entry on the systems of governments and businesses in the world!

FILIPINO WORLD DOMINATION BABY!!!

If we can’t establish a working nation in our own land, perhaps it’s time to plant seeds outside.
